8 Places to Hit During Tybee Restaurant Week

Eight businesses, one two-week window, no ticket required. Tybee Island Main Street's Restaurant Week runs August 3 through 17, 2026, and each participant sets its own special — a menu item, a signature dish, a specialty drink, or a prix fixe. There's no single discount to expect across the board, so the honest way to plan a visit is knowing what each place actually does well, then deciding where to spend your meals. We put this list together the way we'd tell a friend staying with us to plan it: closest to the Inn first, then working outward. Here's the full list, with a specific reason to go to each one.

1. The Surfing Goat

15B Tybrisa St · Thu–Sun, 7 AM–2 PM

The closest Restaurant Week stop to the Inn — a very short walk from Silver Avenue — and a genuinely good reason to get up early. The bagels here are steamed and then toasted, which gets you a crispy outside and a soft middle instead of the usual boiled-then-baked chew, and there are gluten-free options if that's a constraint for your group. The vibe leans jam-band, Grateful Dead-adjacent — drinks named after Billy Strings and Jerry Garcia Band songs — which makes it more of an experience than a grab-and-go coffee stop. Since we don't have on-site breakfast, this is one of two spots we point guests to regularly, not just during Restaurant Week; the four-day window (Thursday through Sunday) is the one scheduling quirk to plan around if your trip includes a Monday-through-Wednesday stretch.

2. Windrose

19 Tybrisa St · Mon–Sat 11 AM–2 AM, Sun 12 PM–2 AM

Also a very short walk from the Inn, half a block from the pier. Windrose is a cozy, affordable American bar-food spot — fried fish, fried prawns, a patty melt, burgers, crab cakes, mostly $8 to $20 — and it's the kind of place locals actually favor over the more tourist-facing options nearby, sitting around a 4.5 rating for a reason. It's open later than almost anything else on this list, which makes it the practical choice if your evening runs long or you're wrapping up a beach day later than planned. It's the easy pick if you want a real dinner without dressing up or planning ahead, and it's close enough to the Inn that you can walk back without needing a plan for getting home.

3. Sea Wolf Tybee

106 S Campbell Ave · Mon–Fri 4–10 PM, Sat–Sun 11 AM–10 PM (weekend brunch 11 AM–3 PM)

A several-block walk from Silver Avenue, on the south end's other streets rather than right off Tybrisa — worth the distance. Sea Wolf is a supper-club-style restaurant with a 1960s-steakhouse-inspired à la carte menu built on hyper-local ingredients: Tybee Oyster Co. salt bomb oysters, Georgia wild-caught shrimp, Chatel Farms beef tenderloin. There are also sausages and vegan options if your table isn't all steak-and-oyster people. It's the closest thing on this list to an occasion dinner — the kind of place worth booking a Restaurant Week evening around rather than squeezing in on the way to something else. No reservations and no phone listed, so this is a walk-in-and-wait situation, especially on weekend evenings; arriving right at 4 PM on a weekday sidesteps most of the wait.

4. Farace's Finest

1605 Inlet Ave, (912) 428-8311 · Mon, Wed–Sat 11:30 AM–9 PM (closed Tuesdays)

Another several-block walk. Opened in March 2025 by a 20-year veteran of Atlanta's SweetWater Brewery, Farace's makes its dough and marinara in-house and finishes every pie with fresh-grated parmesan reggiano — the kind of detail that separates a good slice from an ordinary one. It's a to-go setup with no inside seating, but the patio is expanding and already one of the better ones on the island, and it's dog-friendly if you're traveling with one. Sandwiches and salads round out the menu for anyone not in a pizza mood. 5. Sand Cat Coffee

602 1st St, (912) 856-1882 · Open 7 days

A several-block walk, and a solid backup or second stop if The Surfing Goat's Thursday-through-Sunday hours don't line up with your schedule. Cat-themed decor, coffee and tea roasted by local roaster PERC, and ice cream and baked goods from Auspicious Bakery on the side. It's a small, independent café rather than a chain, and it's open every day of the week, which The Surfing Goat isn't — the more dependable of the two if your trip includes a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday morning.

6. The Deck Beachbar and Kitchen

404 Butler Ave, at Beachside Colony Resort · Lunch and dinner daily, weekend brunch

About 1.3 miles from the Inn — a short drive rather than a walk, and the one entry on this list that's worth the drive specifically because of where it sits. It's Tybee's only oceanfront restaurant, on Mid Beach, with a menu that mixes Australian, coastal Mexican, and Hawaiian influences — fish and chips, buffalo wings, beachside cocktails. No reservations, so build in a wait on a summer weekend, but the payoff is a table that's actually on the sand rather than a few blocks back from it. 7. Sugar Shack

301 1st St, (912) 786-4482 · ~8 AM–9 PM (later Fri/Sat)

A several-block walk, and a genuine Tybee institution — over 50 years old, started as a walk-up summer ice cream stand and now open year-round. Pet-friendly, with ice-cream-cone-shaped outdoor seating that's more charming than it needs to be. If your Restaurant Week itinerary needs a dessert stop between two savory meals, this is the one, and the later Friday and Saturday hours make it a reasonable after-dinner add-on rather than a separate trip.

8. Nickie's 1971 Bar and Grill

1513 Butler Ave, (912) 786-4444 · Mon–Sat 11 AM–3 AM

A several-block walk out, and the pick if your group wants a sports-bar night — karaoke, pool tables, darts, live music, multiple TVs. The menu covers wings, crab legs, pizza, hand-cut fries, steaks, shrimp, and Philly cheesesteaks. Daily lunch specials run Monday through Friday, with happy hour 4–7 PM those same days, which is worth timing a visit around even outside Restaurant Week — a lunch-special stop here is one of the more budget-friendly ways to work this list into a longer stay.

How to string a few of these together

None of this requires picking just one. A reasonable day looks like coffee and a bagel at The Surfing Goat, an afternoon at the beach, and dinner at Sea Wolf or Windrose depending on whether you want an occasion meal or something more casual. If you're staying multiple nights, spread the farther-out spots — Sea Wolf, Farace's, Sand Cat, Sugar Shack, Nickie's — across different days rather than trying to hit all five on one loop; it's a several-block walk to each, and a day that tries to cover all of them ends up feeling like a errand run instead of a vacation.

For a two-night stay, a workable split looks like this: night one, dinner at Windrose since it's close and needs zero planning; the next morning, The Surfing Goat for coffee and a bagel; midday, walk the several blocks out to Sand Cat Coffee or Sugar Shack if you want a second stop before the beach; night two, Sea Wolf or Farace's for the more deliberate meal of the trip. If you have a third night and a car, that's when The Deck earns its spot on the schedule — it's the one stop that benefits from being treated as its own outing rather than squeezed between two walkable ones.

What to skip if you're short on time

If you only have one full day on the island during the event, don't try to force all eight stops into it. Pick one walkable breakfast (The Surfing Goat or Sand Cat Coffee), one walkable dinner (Windrose is the lowest-effort option), and let the rest wait for a return trip. Restaurant Week runs two full weeks specifically so nobody has to rush it — there's no prize for hitting every stop, and a day spent walking briskly between eight restaurants isn't actually a better version of the event than a slower version that only covers three or four.

How we chose

This is the confirmed list of Tybee Restaurant Week participants for 2026 — we didn't add anything that isn't actually part of the event, and we didn't leave anything off. Distances and walk times are approximate from Silver Avenue; the two closest, The Surfing Goat and Windrose, are genuinely a short walk, while the rest of the list is a several-block walk on the south end's other streets or, for The Deck, a short drive. Hours and specials can shift day to day during the event, so it's worth confirming with each business before you go, especially for the walk-in-only spots.
