A block from the Inn. Coastal seafood done with confidence — the coconut shrimp arrive nine to a basket and the lobster crab bisque is the real thing. Big portions, lively room.

American · Pizza·$$

A couple minutes' walk, then up the stairs to the rooftop for a South Beach view. Pizza and shrimp burgers are the move; the view does the rest.

A short walk down to the pier. Shrimp and grits on the upstairs deck, and a clam chowder locals come back for.

American · Breakfast·$

A no-frills diner a few blocks up with strong coffee, generous omelets, and a breakfast buffet that runs early. We don't serve breakfast on-site, so this is where we send guests.

Café · Healthy·$$

A small café a few blocks inland. The Sammy on fresh sourdough and an oat-milk café con leche, eaten outside in the morning sun. Stopping in is half the point.

Japanese · Sushi·$$ – $$$

A small sushi spot a short walk from the Inn. The kind of place where the chef remembers you on a second visit and the owners actually care about allergies.

American · Beach Bar·$$

The one restaurant on Tybee where your table sits on the sand. Fish tacos, fresh oysters, and a cold drink while the light comes off the Atlantic. Worth the short drive north.

Pizza · Bar·$

The locals' pizza joint toward the north end. Cornhole on the deck, live bands at night, and a single slice that feeds two.

Southern · American·$$ – $$$

Hidden in a strip mall behind a gas station toward the north end, and well worth the hunt. Southern cooking, a serious wine list, and a key lime pie locals reorder. Reservations recommended.

Cajun · Seafood·$$

Cajun-leaning seafood out by Lazaretto Creek. Gumbo, po' boys, and a covered porch over the water — a classic Tybee dinner with a marsh sunset.
